Kashmir Bliss
The Kashmir Valley, often called “Paradise on Earth,” is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and serene charm. Srinagar, the summer capital, is famous for its enchanting Dal Lake, where colorful houseboats and shikaras float against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains. The Mughal Gardens, such as Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh, add a touch of royal elegance with their terraced lawns and flowing fountains. Gulmarg, known as the “Meadow of Flowers,” is a year-round destination offering lush green meadows in summer and one of Asia’s best skiing experiences in winter. Its cable car, the Gulmarg Gondola, provides panoramic views of the mighty Himalayas. Pahalgam, set on the banks of the Lidder River, captivates visitors with its pine-covered valleys and serves as a base for the famous Amarnath Yatra. Activities like river rafting and pony rides to Aru and Betaab Valley make it a favorite among nature lovers. Sonmarg, meaning “Meadow of Gold,” lies at the foot of the Zoji La Pass and offers majestic views of glaciers and alpine meadows. It is also a gateway to the high-altitude treks leading to the Amarnath Cave and the Thajiwas Glacier. Together, these destinations reflect the unparalleled beauty and tranquility that make Kashmir one of India’s most cherished travel experiences.
