The Charm of Kerala
Kerala, often referred to as "God’s Own Country," is a serene and scenic state in southern India known for its lush greenery, tranquil backwaters, and rich cultural heritage. From the misty hills of Munnar to the palm-fringed shores of Alleppey, every corner of Kerala offers a unique charm. The state is famous for its Ayurvedic treatments, classical dance forms like Kathakali, and vibrant festivals such as Onam. Cruising through the backwaters in a traditional houseboat is a must-do experience for visitors. Kerala is also home to exotic wildlife sanctuaries, spice plantations, and flavorful cuisine rich in coconut and spices. With its harmonious blend of nature, tradition, and modernity, Kerala is a true paradise for travelers.

Your unforgettable Kerala adventure begins the moment you arrive at Cochin International Airport, where the warmth of traditional hospitality welcomes you to “God’s Own Country.” After a smooth transfer and check-in at your hotel, take some time to relax and refresh before embarking on your first exploration of this historic port city.
In the afternoon, step into the heart of Fort Kochi, a captivating neighbourhood where every street tells a story. The air carries whispers of the Portuguese, Dutch, and British traders who once walked these lanes, leaving behind a fusion of cultures that still thrives today. Here, you’ll witness the fascinating Chinese fishing nets, an iconic sight silhouetted against the horizon—an age-old technique still in use, offering a glimpse into the living traditions of Kerala’s coastal life. Continue your journey to the revered St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, where echoes of the past are etched in every wall and where the remains of Vasco da Gama once rested. From here, visit the Indo-Portuguese Museum, a treasure trove preserving the unique blend of Indian and Portuguese cultures through artifacts, art, and relics that reveal centuries of cross-cultural exchange.
The tour then unfolds in Mattancherry, a neighbourhood steeped in heritage. Discover the Dutch Palace (Mattancherry Palace), where exquisite murals depict scenes from the great Indian epics, and every chamber reflects the opulence of Kerala’s royal lineage. Just nearby stands the historic Paradesi Synagogue, adorned with Belgian chandeliers, Chinese tiles, and hand-painted motifs—a living symbol of Cochin’s remarkable multicultural harmony and Jewish heritage.
As dusk approaches, wind down your day with a peaceful walk along Marine Drive, one of Cochin’s most scenic waterfront promenades. Here, the cool sea breeze brushes against your face as the sun dips into the horizon, casting golden hues over the sparkling skyline and gently swaying waters.
After this enriching introduction to Kerala, return to your hotel where a delightful dinner awaits, followed by a restful overnight stay, preparing you for the adventures ahead.
Overnight at Cochin Hotel.
Today marks the beginning of a picturesque journey as you set out from the coastal allure of Cochin towards the mist-kissed hills of Munnar, one of Kerala’s most enchanting hill stations. The drive itself is nothing short of a moving panorama—winding roads gradually climb into higher altitudes, offering glimpses of rolling hills blanketed in lush greenery, dense forests, and charming little villages that exude rustic beauty.
Along the way, nature delights you with unexpected spectacles. The cascading beauty of Cheeyappara Waterfalls, tumbling gracefully over multiple rock layers, creates a mesmerizing sight, while the nearby Valara Waterfalls enchants with its silvery streams hidden amidst thick green foliage. These refreshing natural wonders invite you to pause, breathe in the cool air, and capture timeless moments in photographs.
As the journey continues, the scenery unfolds like a living painting—endless stretches of tea plantations, mist-laden valleys, and winding streams reflecting the soft glow of sunlight filtering through the clouds. Every curve in the road brings forth a new postcard-perfect view, immersing you deeper into the charm of Kerala’s hill country.
On reaching Munnar, the refreshing mountain breeze greets you with its cool, soothing touch, instantly washing away the fatigue of travel. After checking in at your hotel, you have the rest of the day to relax and soak in the serenity of this idyllic retreat. Let the tranquil surroundings of swaying tea gardens and the gentle hum of nature be your backdrop as you unwind, rejuvenate, and prepare for the days of exploration ahead.
As evening descends, return to your hotel for a comforting dinner, surrounded by the peaceful aura of Munnar’s pristine landscapes, before retiring for a restful night in the lap of nature.
Overnight at Munnar Hotel.
Awaken to the cool, refreshing mountain air of Munnar, where the mist gently lifts off the emerald slopes and the first rays of sunlight illuminate the endless stretches of tea gardens. Today promises to be a day immersed in nature’s finest artistry and the timeless charm of this hill station.
Your morning unfolds with a visit to the Eravikulam National Park, a sprawling sanctuary that serves as the proud home of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. As you journey through its rolling hills and sprawling grasslands, the scenery unfolds like a living canvas—mist-draped valleys, pristine shola forests, and wildflowers swaying in the breeze. The panoramic views from the park are nothing short of breathtaking, offering glimpses of Munnar’s raw, untouched beauty.
From there, step into the world of tea at the Tata Tea Museum, where history, culture, and tradition blend seamlessly. Here, you’ll trace the fascinating journey of tea—from tender leaf to steaming cup. Watch the age-old machines at work, learn the intricate process of cultivation and processing, and savor the aroma that defines Munnar’s identity as the land of tea.
In the afternoon, nature calls you once again to the shimmering waters of the Mattupetty Dam, where calm blue waters mirror the surrounding hills and create an enchanting setting. A short drive ahead brings you to the famed Echo Point, where every shout bounces back as playful echoes across the valley, filling the air with laughter and wonder. The day’s trail ends at the serene Kundala Lake, where placid waters, fringed with lush greenery, reflect the mountains like a perfect painting. The tranquility here invites you to pause, breathe deeply, and embrace the stillness.
As evening sets in, return to your hotel, carrying with you the soothing essence of Munnar’s landscapes and experiences. A warm dinner awaits, bringing the perfect close to a day that has blended adventure, serenity, and discovery in the lap of nature.
Overnight at Munnar Hotel.
Leaving behind the mist-kissed, tea-scented hills of Munnar, your journey continues through winding roads that unravel breathtaking scenery at every turn. The drive itself feels like a moving painting—dense forests, rolling spice plantations, and tiny hamlets tucked away in the lush greenery guide your way towards Thekkady, the wildlife haven of Kerala. As you ascend and descend through the Western Ghats, the air grows heavier with the aroma of cardamom, pepper, and clove, a sensory prelude to what awaits in this region.
Upon arrival in Thekkady, the afternoon invites you for an unforgettable communion with nature at the famed Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, one of India’s most celebrated reserves. Here, you step aboard a boat that glides gracefully across the serene waters of Periyar Lake. The stillness of the water mirrors the surrounding forests, creating an atmosphere of calm broken only by the distant trumpet of an elephant or the splash of a bison drinking at the banks. As the boat drifts along, your eyes may catch sight of herds of elephants moving majestically in the distance, wild boars foraging, or flocks of vibrant, exotic birds flitting across the treetops. Every passing moment feels like a brushstroke on the grand canvas of nature.
As dusk begins to paint the skies in hues of gold and crimson, your evening opens a window to Kerala’s cultural heritage. You have the option to witness the spellbinding Kathakali dance, where elaborate costumes, painted faces, and dramatic expressions narrate ancient epics, or to marvel at the raw energy and precision of Kalaripayattu, Kerala’s age-old martial art form. Both performances offer you a glimpse into traditions that have stood the test of centuries, making the experience truly enriching.
After a day filled with scenic beauty, wilderness encounters, and cultural immersion, return to your hotel where a warm dinner awaits, rounding off a memorable day in the heart of Kerala’s natural and cultural splendor.
Overnight at Thekkady Hotel.
Today, your journey unfolds with a delightful change of scenery as you set off for Alleppey, fondly known as the “Venice of the East”. On arrival, check in to your beachside resort, thoughtfully designed to provide uninterrupted views of the Arabian Sea. Take a while to settle in, relax, and let the refreshing sea breeze and soothing sound of waves instantly wash over you, setting the perfect tone for your coastal escape.
The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure. Step out to explore Kovalam’s world-famous crescent-shaped shoreline, where each beach unfolds its own charm. Travel Tips

Best Time to Visit:
The ideal time is October to March for pleasant weather. June to September is the monsoon season — great for Ayurvedic treatments and lush greenery, but expect heavy rains.
Carry Light Cotton Clothes:
Kerala is generally warm and humid. Pack light cotton clothes, comfortable footwear, sunscreen, and sunglasses.
Stay Hydrated & Eat Wisely:
Drink only bottled water (check the seal).Try authentic Kerala cuisine, but be cautious with spicy or street food if you’re not used to it.
Respect Local Culture:
Dress modestly, especially when visiting temples. Remove footwear before entering any place of worship.
Houseboat Etiquette:
If cruising in Alleppey or Kumarakom, carry mosquito repellent and clarify if air conditioning will be provided during the night.
Wildlife and Plantation Tours:
For Periyar or Munnar plantation visits, wear sturdy shoes and carry rain gear if visiting during the rainy season.
Connectivity & Language:
English is widely understood, but learning a few Malayalam phrases can go a long way. Internet is available but may be patchy in remote areas.
Transport & Local Travel:
Hiring a private cab with a local driver is convenient for inter-city travel. Auto-rickshaws are good for short distances, but always negotiate fares.
Cash & ATMs:
While UPI and cards work in cities, carry some cash for remote areas and small vendors.
Ayurvedic Treatments:
Only opt for certified and reputed Ayurvedic centres for authentic therapies.
