The city invites visitors to stroll along the sparkling Swan River, relax on pristine beaches such as Cottesloe, and wander through expansive Kings Park, where sweeping views frame the skyline. A lively dining, arts, and cultural scene adds to its charm, while Perth also serves as the perfect gateway for unique day trips—from meeting adorable quokkas on Rottnest Island to exploring the otherworldly Pinnacles Desert.
Margaret River – Just a few hours’ drive south of Perth, Margaret River is a world-renowned haven for wine lovers, foodies, and nature enthusiasts alike. Home to more than 100 boutique wineries, the region offers indulgent gourmet experiences paired with breathtaking landscapes. Visitors can explore ancient limestone caves, lose themselves in the towering karri forests, or enjoy the thrill of world-class surf beaches. With its perfect mix of indulgence and adventure, Margaret River is a destination that captivates the senses.

Upon your arrival at Perth Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and assisted with a private transfer to your hotel for check-in. After settling into your comfortable room and taking some time to freshen up, step out for your first taste of the city with a leisurely evening walk along Elizabeth Quay and the picturesque Swan River foreshore. This waterfront precinct is one of Perth’s most iconic landmarks, blending modern architecture with scenic natural beauty. As dusk falls, the area transforms into a lively hub where the twinkling lights of the skyline reflect beautifully across the calm waters, creating a magical atmosphere.
You can spend time admiring public art installations, watching boats glide across the river, or simply soaking in the relaxed yet vibrant energy of the city. For dinner, you have the choice of indulging in a riverside dining experience, where restaurants serve fresh seafood and contemporary Australian cuisine with uninterrupted views of the water, or venturing into the bustling Northbridge district. Known for its multicultural influences, Northbridge offers a wide array of culinary delights—from authentic Asian street food and Mediterranean flavors to modern fusion dishes—alongside trendy bars, quirky cafés, and a lively nightlife scene. This first evening gives you a perfect balance of relaxation and exploration, gently immersing you into the charm of Perth before your journey truly begins.
Overnight at Perth Hotel.
Today promises a truly unforgettable full-day excursion to Rottnest Island, one of Western Australia’s most treasured gems, renowned for its untouched natural beauty, turquoise waters, and laid-back island atmosphere. After a scenic ferry ride from Perth or Fremantle, you will step onto this car-free haven, where bicycles and eco-friendly buses provide the perfect way to explore its pristine landscapes. You may choose to hire an e-bike and set off at your own pace along winding coastal trails, uncovering hidden coves, secluded beaches, and panoramic lookout points, or you may prefer a guided bus tour that combines comfort with insightful commentary about the island’s fascinating history, Aboriginal heritage, and unique ecosystems.
Throughout the day, you will have the chance to visit some of Rottnest’s most iconic landmarks. Stop at The Basin, a sheltered swimming spot ideal for a refreshing dip in calm, clear waters, and wander along the soft white sands of Pinky Beach, framed by the historic Bathurst Lighthouse. A climb up Wadjemup Lighthouse rewards you with breathtaking 360-degree views of the island’s rugged coastline and the endless expanse of the Indian Ocean. Of course, one of the most memorable moments will be meeting the island’s famous furry residents—the quokkas. Known for their adorable, smile-like expressions, these photogenic marsupials are found only in this region and offer an enchanting wildlife encounter.
For water enthusiasts, Rottnest is equally captivating below the surface, with excellent snorkeling and swimming opportunities among colorful coral reefs teeming with tropical fish and vibrant marine life. Whether you choose to relax on the beaches, explore scenic trails, or enjoy aquatic adventures, every moment on Rottnest feels like a step into paradise. As the day winds down, you will return by ferry to Perth in the evening, carrying with you wonderful memories of a magical island escape.

Overnight at Perth Hotel.
This morning, set out on a scenic drive north of Perth for a full-day adventure that combines wildlife encounters, coastal beauty, and one of Western Australia’s most iconic natural wonders. Your first stop will be Yanchep National Park, a tranquil haven of native bushland and limestone caves. Here, you can stroll through lush parklands where wild kangaroos graze openly and observe koalas resting in the eucalyptus trees at the specially designed Koala Boardwalk. The park also offers a chance to learn about Aboriginal culture and the rich biodiversity of the region.
From Yanchep, continue your journey to the charming coastal town of Lancelin, renowned for its expansive snow-white sand dunes. Afterward, travel further north to the Pinnacles Desert in Nambung National Park, the highlight of today’s excursion. Here, thousands of ancient limestone pillars rise mysteriously from the golden sands, creating an awe-inspiring and almost lunar-like landscape. Take your time to wander among the stone formations, learn about their geological significance at the visitor centre, and capture incredible photographs of this natural wonder. If conditions allow, remain in the desert until sunset, when the shifting light transforms the Pinnacles into a magical scene with long shadows and glowing hues across the sands.

Travel Tips
Visa & Travel Documents

• Apply for an Australian Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) well in advance through VFS Global. It usually takes 3–4 weeks.
• Keep a print and soft copy of your visa, return flight tickets, hotel bookings, and travel insurance.
• Carry your Indian driving license + International Driving Permit (IDP) if you plan to self-drive, which is the best way to explore Margaret River.

Flights & Arrival

• Direct flights from India to Perth are limited; most connect via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, or Bangkok.
• Perth Airport is efficient; SIM cards (Optus, Telstra, Vodafone) are easily available on arrival. Telstra has the best coverage, especially in Margaret River.

Getting Around

• Self-drive is highly recommended – roads are excellent, traffic is minimal outside the city, and scenic drives add to the experience.
• Drive on the left-hand side, like in India. But follow strict road rules: no honking, full stop at stop signs, and strict adherence to speed limits (fines are heavy).
• Fuel stations are fewer between towns – always keep your tank at least half full.

Food Tips

• Perth and Margaret River have many Indian restaurants (especially in suburbs like Canning Vale and Victoria Park in Perth).
• For Margaret River, Indian food options are limited – try Swings Taphouse & Kitchen or pack ready-to-eat meals/snacks from India.
• Carry a small electric kettle or travel cooker if you’re vegetarian or prefer homemade food.
• Don’t miss local experiences – fresh seafood, wine tastings, cheese, and chocolates.

Weather & Clothing

• Summer (Dec–Feb): Hot & dry (30–38°C) – pack cotton clothes, sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses.
• Autumn (Mar–May): Pleasant – great for wine tours.
• Winter (Jun–Aug): Cold & rainy (7–18°C) – carry jackets and umbrellas.
• Spring (Sep–Nov): Wildflower season – light layers and walking shoes are ideal.

Connectivity & Payments

• Australia is largely cashless – use cards or UPI-linked Forex cards (HDFC, ICICI, Niyo Global, etc.).
• Prepaid SIM (Telstra or Optus) gives good coverage; Margaret River may have patchy signal in forests.
• Download Google Maps offline and Fuel Map Australia for fuel station locations.

Shopping & Souvenirs

• Perth city and Fremantle Markets are great for souvenirs – boomerangs, Aboriginal art, honey, macadamia nuts, and wine.
• Margaret River is famous for wine, olive oil, handmade soaps, and chocolates.

Practical Indian Traveler Tips

• Time difference: Perth is 2.5–3.5 hours ahead of IST (depending on daylight saving).
• Power plugs: Type I (3 flat pins). Carry a universal adapter.
• Medical needs: Carry regular medicines from India with prescription; buying over-the-counter is more regulated.
• Driving with kids/elders: Carry snacks, water, and keep rest stops – distances can be long with few facilities in between.
